COVID-19 Information for RISD Summer Programs Students

COVID-19 Update: March 23, 2020

At this time, RISD Summer Programs plans to run as scheduled and we are still accepting applications.

As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to be an evolving situation, we are actively monitoring it locally and globally, and our top concern is our community’s health and well-being. We have been and will continue to follow all recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH).

We continue to anticipate our Summer Studies, Summer Institute for Graphic Design Studies (SIGDS) and Summer Design Intensives to run from June 22-July 31 on the RISD campus in Providence, RI. However, as there remains much uncertainty about COVID-19, we are monitoring changes in the situation and decisions will ultimately be guided by recommendations from public health authorities.

As a result of such uncertainty, we have extended the pay in full deadline to Monday, May 11.

In the event that RISD Summer Programs is canceled due to COVID-19, program payments, including the deposit, will be 100% refunded. The $60 application fee and other program-related costs not billed by RISD such as travel, supplies, etc. are non-refundable.

As additional information is made available, we will share via email and in the student applicant dashboard.
