COVID-19 Update: April 1, 2020
We hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe during these unprecedented times. This remains a rapidly evolving situation, and we appreciate your patience, kindness, and perseverance as we navigate this new normal together.
The health, safety, and well-being of our students, instructors, and staff remains our top priority, and every decision we’ve made over the past few weeks reflects that. Only after careful consideration and comprehensive discussions with many who are deeply invested in the health and education of our students, Rhode Island School of Design has made an important decision about on-campus summer programming:
Due to the elevation to pandemic status by the World Health Organization and the rapid spread of COVID-19 across the region, nation and world, we have made the difficult decision to officially cancel all in-person 2020 RISD Summer Programs courses.
As a result, program payments, including the deposit, will be 100% refunded. The $60 application fee and other program-related costs not billed by RISD such as travel, supplies, etc. are non-refundable. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. All refunds will be processed within 4 weeks.
Our staff and instructors share in your disappointment that we won’t be able to join together in a creative connection on campus this summer. We understand the opportunity Summer Programs offers our wide variety of students and we will most certainly miss working with you this year.
We sincerely hope that you will not let this change in your plans deter you from pursuing creative inspiration in all your endeavors, but mostly we wish for you to be safe and well.
